My fellow Beehivers have come through for my month so amazingly!!
(Please excuse the crappy photos. My new 'baby' will be with me at the end of the week and all things photographic on this blog are sure to improve).
I asked everyone in the bee to make string blocks using a gorgeous green Kaffe shot cotton through the centres and loads of my scraps everywhere else.
I also requested each person to contribute a scrap or 2 from her own stash to make it a truly communal quilt.
I'm still considering adding to the border with more scraps. (I've run out of the green and I'm not allowed to buy any more!) What do you think? It is currently 53 inches square(ish).
Either way, I'm so excited to get this one quilted and bound.
This has been my first quilting bee and I have so enjoyed the process of creating these beautiful communal quilts.
Hope you are having a great week.
Andi :-)

Love the green!
Scrappy binding would suit!
Cheers
I love that green too! And agree on the scrappy binding - that is a great quilt.
Its fabulous!
absolutely love the green shot cotton...it really makes all the other colors pop!!!
<3 it!
Glorious green! What were you thinking for the border, string strips?
Wow....simply, wow!
The green makes it look so cool.
Great scrappy quilt.
Looks lovely Andi - and a lot like my monster that is still waiting to be quilted.
It also has green middle-strings, but it is even larger. It is going on a wall eventually, and is 100" x 60". Each block is 10" square.
I got scraps of fabrics from my friends at my Quilting Guild, so apart from containing lots of bits from my stash, it has scraps from others' stashes as well. Such a great way to capture memories.
Any idea how you will quilt it - I've spent months putting it off, and need to make a start.
You can see it here

Oh, Andi - it's so pretty! I would never have guessed that it is made as a joint effort. What a great idea for a bee block!
I think it is a nice size, too! You are tempting me to try this pattern again...
; )
Love it! you never cease to inspire me with your amazingly colourful quilts! Well done :)
Love these style of quilts. Just beautiful.
That is so cool!
Love the blocks Andi - and the green is fabulous!
I love it Andi the colours are fantastic
It's amazing, Andi!! I so want one!
Andi! You are my HERO for getting this together so quickly!!! Plus, it looks amazing. :)
Since you asked, 53 inches squares seems to be a tad small. I can see a scrappy piano key border... & That addition could easily add 10-ish inches without making it clunky...
Now as for the green - I would really want it for the binding - with out with the addition of my border...
That was supposed to be "with or without the addition of my border." at the end.
I can't type & it is rather obvious...
This is so beautiful. Makes me want to join a swap!
It is wonderful ,the green is perfect !
I LOVE the green! I've been meaning to have a go at this pattern for a while... life is just busy... Looking forward to seeing it quilted too.
What a superb quilt. Definitely keen to try something similar with my scraps!
This is just wonderful! I absolutely love the green.
it's wonderful! I can see a border made out of a wide piece of solid - would really set it off and make those inner blocks shine.
