A little help please

My values quilt has moved from my design floor to being a pieced top ....hanging on my clothes line.

Inspired by this gorgeous quilt top, I have gone for an asymmetrical design.

My question to you guys is ..... should I keep adding to make it bigger?

It is currently 55 inches squared which makes for a smallish couch quilt or a perfectly sized wall hanging.
But I have plenty of HSTs left over to make it bigger for a more generous couch quilt or even a quilt for our bed.

What would you do? Would you keep adding? Would you keep the asymmetry?

Andi :-)

I love the asymetry, I would definitely keep that. I would love to say "make it bigger" but it may lose something in translation. Go with your gut cause it's always right, your first instinct always pays off I reckon.

Make it larger but keep it assymetrical. I have so many smallish quilts and they just don't have as much use. Especially cause my hubby is 6 ft 4 in so he feels they are way to short to snuggle under. If you make it twin-size you could still use it as a couch/lap quilt or you could put it on a bed. You asked :-)

It is gorgeous!

Definitely bigger, unless you are completely bored and sick of making it. In that case I would stop while you still like it!

And I would keep the asymmetry.

(Didn't you ever think you'd hear that from me?)

DON'T STOP NOW (it's gorgeous). ASYMMETRY IS GOOD (I think that's why I have three children).

This is so pretty! I say, as long as you are enjoying the process, go with making it bigger!

Keep on going! I find as my kids get taller my quilts get bigger. Honestly you get more use out of a bigger quilt. This is amazing, I'd keep the pattern going too.

Bigger! I think you need it so you can snuggle with the whole family without someone being cold :o)

The assymetry is great! Whether to make it bigger... if you've got the blocks, I'd keep it going a little larger... it's gorgeous!

Love the off centre design!

Go bigger Andi. A large quilt is so much more useful. PS See you tonight.

Lovely, Andi! This pattern is on my to do list. I love your warm and sunny palette!
My first instinct would be to keep the asymmetry and make it a bit taller/ longer. If you don't want it very big you could do a 10 by 14 layout?

Have fun with your finish!

Wicked colour scheme! I would absolutely keep the asymmetry and go bigger, bed-size bigger! Cant wait to see what you decide!

BIGGER! (No one has ever complained about a quilt being too big.) keep the Asymetry.
If you add borders, try to add bits (like the last pair needed to make a full square) of the piecing into it. I always find that to be fun.
(I'll flickr mail you a sample of what I mean by that border comment.)

I dont know if I really have an opinion on the size, just wanted to say that I love the colours, particularly the warm orangey tones.
It will be beautiful!

If you've got the patience (and the extra fabric) to do so, why not make it a little bigger! I love the asymmetry--so fantastic. Either way, it's going to be a wonderful quilt!

Love the colours too!
