What use could my bum have for a denim mini skirt??

Not much ....

... unless I turn it into a new bag!!!

New pockets on the inside:

And I can still use the original pockets on the outside:

A 50c skirt from the op-shop is my new favourite bag!!

Have you done any re-purposing lately?

Andi :-)

  1. In-jean-eous. I reckon I might have a denim mini sonewhere that, well, lets say, will never be required again.

  2. Fantastic!! I re-pourpose my really unuseful strips of fabric into plant ties. Not quite the same thing though.

  3. Yes, its my 2010 thing. I read that while we stress about wasting a litre of water while we run the tap cleaning teeth (which we should stress about) if we throw away cottons/denims etc which are not finished their useful life we waste around 1000 Litres!
So far I have painted s set of hideous cork placements - look amazing - made bunting from damaged antique lace, cut up a mans jacket for a doll and today got some curtain scrim for making produce bags to leave those supermarket bags behind (but they can still see the vegie inside and so washable). I have about 50 projects to go.... oh and hardly spent a cent.

  4. Huge repurposer here! While not an environmentalist, I consider myself a conservationist and shop our Goodwill stores for gently used clothing for our family. I also am collecting vintage/retro sheets to make quilts, pillows, etc. Recently I took a waffle weave pillow sham that had seen better days and was able to use it to make a new pillow with a Dresden Plate on the front!
Your bag is too cute and ther're quite popular here in the states!
I appreciate your thinking and living so creatively!

  7. Great Job.
I have hung on to so many pairs of jeans with the idea of turning them into bags. You make it look super easy! Might just dig them out! Thanks. Michelle

  9. What a great idea - the mini that you can put on and never have to worry about what your legs look like. That's my kind of bag!

Love the prints you have used for the lining and strap, too.

  13. Great bag and what a great idea! Better not wear it together with your denim mini though, it might clash..
