Quilt Along progress report.

Here's my finished quilt top for the Old Red Barn Company's quilt along.

It measures 72 inches squared.

Next week ...... basting and quilting.

I've decided to hand quilt it so it may take me a little longer than a week.

It's always nice to have some hand stitching on the go.
Don't you think?

Andi :-)

  2. These colors are to die for! I love this so much I honestly think I'm going to purchase the same colors and make this quilt! I didn't get in the quilt a long for this one, but that's ok. Seeing this quilt has pretty much sealed the deal that I will make one eventually! Which fabric line did you use for this? This is absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see the finished product!

  8. I was toying with the idea of joining this quilt-a-long, but I've already made 2 quilts in this sort of style already (though with only 3 stripes per square) so I thought I'd give it a miss.
Yours looks lovely! With all that pink, though, it would never find a taker in my house full of galumphing boys!!!

  9. Beautiful Andi,
I love to have something to handsew, doesn't matter what, just to be able to pick it up when I can't get to the "real" sewing.

  12. ...but she's giving us 2 weeks to do the quilting, so it's definitely possible for you to give it a go with hand quilting. have you thought of 'big stitch' quilting? I do that sometimes and use perle cotton and a big needle. My fingers are so used to tiny stitches it takes a bit to let them know it's ok to go big. Adds a wonderful texture and I get to play with nice colors.

  21. it is gorgeous! I admire thoe of you that do hand sewing. Except for my "yo-yo" project, I don't. LOL. I say, I spent a lot for that sewing machine, so I am gonna use it.
