So much to tell!!
I'll try to be brief.
Jake and Ella got their swap partners for the Great Kids Mail Swap.
They are very excited and have written / drawn their letters already.
Here they are ready to be stamped and sent.
Thursday night at Perle 8's was very fun. Lots of lovely crafters were there, and I got to finish my mystery quilt.
It was inspired by this piece created by the fabulous Malka Dubrawsky.
It will be used as a Matzah cover for our family seder this Passover.
Here is the back with strips of Velcro up each side. (A bit tricky to see the white on white)
And here it is folded (and held together by the Velcro strips), ready to receive the 3 matzahs for the traditional meal.
Then ........
All day yesterday and today, I attended a machine quilting course at Amitie, run by the fabulous Deborah Louie. I learned SOOOOOOO much!!!
What an amazing teacher!!
What an incredibly talented quilter! (Deb, not me, that is)
I have lots of practicing to do.
But first, I'll be busy with other tasks this evening.
The tooth fairy is coming to our house for the first time tonight.
There is much excitement!!
I wonder what she will bring.
Sweet dreams and happy stitching.

One job down. Many more to go!
Today, I worked on the MAMMOTH task of tidying up my sewing/work space.
Even though I would love it to be prettier with white furniture and matching everything, its pretty great to have ANY space for such indulgences.
It feels great to be able to see the floor again.
Also, here is something I've been working on lately ....
I plan to finish it off this week at Perle 8s. Once it's finished, I'll tell you what it is.
My WIP pile is slowly diminishing. Hooray!!
Have a great week of stitching and living life.

Lesson learned
Last Tuesday, I went along to Judy's class at Amitie feeling rather pleased with myself.
During the day I had been to a fairly large cheapish fabric retailer to buy some backing fabrics for this quilt I'm making for my daughter, Ella. I bought some very cheap but lovely ginghams in pink and yellow.
When Judy saw what I was working with she warned me that it wasn't going to end well.
I persisted. "It will be fine", "Ella won't notice a thing".
About 2 hours later I admitted defeat, unpicked the nasty buckled quilting I'd done and made a new back using much lovelier Amitie fabrics. End of class.
So yesterday, I got quilting ... again.
MUCH BETTER!!!
Here's what I did .....

Let's talk about PINK, baby!!
Could this be any pinker?
Mazal Tov guys.
My friends Alan and Rachel, who have 2 delightful boys, have finally had a baby girl.
They called her Tali (which means dew drop) and have totally embraced all that is pink and girly.
I'm so happy for them.

Much love,

What a great workout ....
... my credit card got yesterday at the Australasian Quilt Convention.
So much crafty goodness!!!
I purchased some divine Amy Butler fabrics as well as a few bits and bobs for the stash.
Also some hand dyed fabrics and a couple of jelly rolls (my first jelly rolls ever!!)
And a great book about the history of American quilts, some Appli-Kay Wonder and some printable fabric sheets.
My mum came along with me a purchased a kit with yummy japanese fabrics, a book and a template so I can make her a throw for her sun room.
As well as ample opportunities to spend next month's mortgage payment, there was an amazing exhibition of quilts.
Here are some of the ones I found particularly inspiring:
Enjoy your crafting wherever you are.
